Agave salmiana 'Green Giant'

SUCCULENT
Huge specimen plant with open, graceful deep green foliage tolerates many different soils, as long as they are well drained. The leaves have spines and can grow 6' long and 1' wide. It produces pups readily. At around age 15 a bloom spike will be produced and the mother plant will die. A fermented drink called Pulque is made from the sap. This Agave is native to Mexico. It is hardy to around 10-15°F.
